1 Thessalonians 1: 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything (NASB)
What are people looking for when they are looking for a church? Are they looking at the size of the church, how nice the facilities are, will they fit in, or a church where the ministers do all the work? Although this may be true of some most people are looking for a church that they can be active in.
I have had the privilege to work with visitors here at Riverchase for the last three years. When I talk to them, they tell me that they are looking for a place where they can grow closer to God and closer to each other. They want their families to get involved in community service activities. They want to connect with families and be a part of the body of Christ that is going somewhere. They want to be part of a church with a purpose.
Let’s make sure that when people come to visit they can see the love of God all around us. That they know we are on our way to heaven and we want to take them with us. Let’s make sure our faith in Jesus resounds all over this city and far away by the way we love each other and the way we love our neighbors.
