My vote is important to me. My vote is not a statement of personal like nor dislike for either candidate.
Several factors enter into the making of my decision as to whom to vote for. But two are key.
The first is the oath of office. The oath for the office of president of the United States is stated in Article II, Section One, Clause 8 of the United States Constitution. It reads as follows:
:—”I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
To “preserve, protect and defend” does not mean to ignore nor to rewrite. If the Constitution needs to be changed, there is a Constitutional process included within it for accomplishing that.
I hope for a president who will take seriously the oath of office and keep it.
Secondly, is a concern for innocent life.
I have spent the past several minutes staring at this website, www.abortioncounters.com .
As I watch the constant increase in numbers in the United States and in the world, I ask, “How long will God continue to bless this country where so much innocent blood is being shed?” Don’t just look at the numbers, read the information contained below the numbers.
I hope for a president who will strive to protect all innocent lives.
