SERVING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Domestic Missions

At Riverchase, we strive to embody God’s love and the teachings of Jesus within our community and beyond.

We offer numerous opportunities for you to get involved and make a meaningful impact—whether through hands-on service projects or financial support. Our members actively contribute their time and resources, engaging in everything from major relief efforts to community projects like home repairs and yard work. Our goal is to support small congregations, assist the homeless, and participate in various initiatives that uplift our local and surrounding areas.

Help for the Homeless

Several times a year, our teens and dedicated adults come together to provide food, clothing, and encouragement to the homeless. These efforts, especially during the colder months, aim to address immediate needs and offer support to those facing life’s hardships. Through these interactions, both those served and those serving experience a profound sense of connection and gratitude.

Bears Made with Love

In times of medical distress, a small gesture can make a big difference. Our dedicated volunteers craft and donate teddy bears to the emergency room at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. These bears provide comfort and solace to children during their most anxious moments. The heartfelt responses from families affirm the positive impact of this simple yet powerful outreach.

EXPANDING OUR REACH AND IMPACT GLOBALLY

International Missions

Honduras

For over a decade, we have supported Por Los Niños in Catacamas, Honduras. This organization, dedicated to caring for severely disabled children, is led by the selfless Carlos, who uses his own income to support these children. Our visits have revealed the profound impact of Carlos’s work and the generosity of spirit that drives it. The funds we’ve provided have been a lifeline for many children, helping them access necessary care and support.

India

Located in southeastern India, the Ryali Church of Christ, founded by Brother Jaya Paul, is a hub for spreading the Gospel. Our visits to this church offer a deep immersion into their vibrant Christian community. We witness firsthand the dedication of their members and the joy they find in worship and service. Riverchase proudly supports their extensive network of congregations and educational initiatives.

Malawi

In the scenic mountains of Dedza, Malawi, the Malawi International Bible Institute is making a significant difference. Known for its warm-hearted people, Malawi faces extreme poverty. The Institute provides vital biblical education and support, nurturing leaders who spread the Gospel and uplift their communities.

Jos, Nigeria

Since 1989, the School of Biblical Studies in Jos has grown into a prominent institution, offering various levels of biblical education. With over 300 graduates serving in numerous countries, the school plays a crucial role in equipping leaders for ministry. We are especially proud to support Naphtali Dagasamah, one of the original faculty members, who continues to make a profound impact through his work.

Scotland

We first partnered with the work of Jack and Maureen Strachan in the mid-90s. Jack preached in the Scottish cities of Edinburgh, East Kilbride and Cumbernauld, where he moved in 2010. He passed away in 2018, but his legacy lives on through the mission of the Cumbernauld Church of Christ which we still support today. Our members have cherished their experiences in Scotland, where the work has left a lasting impression on both the local community and our own.

Guatemala

For over a decade, we have partnered with Health Talents to provide essential medical care in rural Guatemala. Our teams, consisting of medical professionals and volunteers, offer free medical services and build relationships within these communities. Our support extends to education and basic needs, helping to transform the lives of many children and families.

Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.
