1Timothy 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (NASB)
One important characteristic of men of God, is they are men who seek peace. They look for ways to lead a peaceful life. What that means for us, is that we are men who do not seek to stir or incite trouble. One of the saddest things a man can do is cause trouble in the family. We can do that by not honoring our wives and children. We can incite trouble by speaking badly of our spouse or children. Also in the same manner, we can cause trouble by complaining about someone, instead of talking to them. How do we do start trouble? By not praying.
Don’t talk about people, pray for them. When others seem to do that, avoid it and bring their names to God for blessings. Pray and be thankful for everything you have received. By doing that you will honor God. You will be the man who honors God. Seek the peace at home and in the church.
