Well, I did it again. I’m four days late on my second quarter estimated income tax payment. The payment due June 15 has sneaked up on me more than once. We have now inserted alerts in our calendars to try and keep that from happening again.
Some things are so important you don’t want to miss them nor be late with them.
Does the Bible give us warnings about things that are coming? You know it does. Things so important we dare not overlook them.
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, (Heb. 9:27)
That seems like an important thing to remember.
How about this one?
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matt. 7:21)
It takes more than just acknowledging Jesus, we must also do the things he wants us to do.
Also, think about this warning given by Moses to the tribes of Reuben and Gad.
“Be sure your sin will find you out.” (Num. 32:23)
We all have an appointment to be judged by God after our death. What will matter is how we listened to God and obeyed him. Nothing will be hidden from him.
These things might be important for us to know.
