My family will have different reactions to the title. Some will laugh. Some will recall a memory. Some may even think I shouldn’t have written it.
When my mother was born, October 9, 1929, she was named Baby Ann Spivey. The name remains on her birth certificate to this day. She was given the name “Baby” because her parents were determined she would be the last of their many children. But she was not the last. Another daughter would be born.
Mother hated the name. When she married Dad, she was delighted to be able to change her name to Ann Jones Spivey. But her four sons learned to read and they eventually found the birth certificate. “Baby Ann” was revived. She fussed every time it was.
I write it today out of loving memory. Not to tease her. Today it would not bother her.
Leaving this life she has left all of its frustrations, cares, heartaches, concerns and temptations.
She is in a new reality where the only thing that matters is God.
The hope we have is that she has lived her life in this world with a focus on the reality she now has gone to.
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. (Col. 3:1-4)
