“Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Just a thought concerning serving: if we are not serving the Lord, then who are we serving? When Joshua spoke to the people of Israel, the people knew who was taking care of them. They understood who was providing for them in the desert. Joshua pointed out that people are always going to be serving someone. The question is, who do you want to serve?
That question should always be at the forefront of our minds. Who are we serving today? If we are not serving the Lord, then are we serving ourselves? The world? The answer to that question is easy. When we do what Jesus asks us to do, then we are serving Him. The one whose commandments we obey, that is who we are serving. Choose to serve the Lord today!
