1 THESSALONIANS 5:9-11 “For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.” (NASB)
I remember in my youth I had a lot of fights with my brother who is 5 years older than me. He used to annoy me or as he would say, “I used to annoy him”. Just before he left for the United States, I was mad at him for not helping the family with the grocery store that we owned. I did not talk to him until he came back to visit and told me there was a great school of preaching in Texas if I was interested in going. He and my sister would try to do everything they needed to get me in that school if I wanted to go. He knew my dream was to be a preacher, and although I was mad at him, he was still thinking about me and trying to help me be more than I could be.
In the church we are family. Sometimes we might be mad at each other. Sometimes we don’t agree with how someone does something or why they do it. As the family of God, we should always strive to encourage and help one another and build up one another. We should be looking out for the well-being of our brothers and sisters even when we disagree with them. That’s makes the family of God great! That’s what separates us from the world! That’s one of the reasons I love Riverchase. Thank you for your encouragement, and thank you for making me feel I can be more and do more.
