Proverbs 17: 17 “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (NASB)
When I started visiting the congregation here at Riverchase I knew maybe two people, but that number changed quickly. The children’s minister came and talked to me, then the youth minister talked to us. They invited us to their activities, and we attended them. That’s where we met many of you. In fact that’s where I wanted to be more involved. My family and I loved working with so many of you that we would ask who is going to be there for the next activity. I still love working with so many of you.
When I do mission trips, many times I don’t know everyone in the group, or many of them for that matter. At the end of the mission trip you know all of them and it is a sad moment because you probably won’t see them until next year. What forms these friendships? When we work together, even when things do not go right , we figure out a way to make it work. Especially when we are working for the Lord, we are going to encounter so many adversities, but we push through until we accomplish our task. When we work together we make lasting friendships.
