Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith. Romans 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.” (NASB)
What do we usually do when we ask a question, and we don’t like the answer? We usually ask more questions, right? We ask until we get what we want, and if we don’t get it, we might either get mad or disappointed. Habakkuk asked one question to God, “Until when Lord?” As if God was not paying attention to what was going on around the world affecting God’s people. In chapter 1 verse 6 the Lord answers. Habakkuk goes on to ask another question, “Are you not God? Can you not do anything to stop this?” The Lord replies to him in chapter 2 verse 2. It seems that sometimes when people are desperate and in fear, they ask God these same questions. They may not say the same words, but the thoughts are there. When hard times come, people then remember God, and they either blame Him for not seeing this or for not caring. People ask these questions out of fear. God knows and is aware of everything that is going on around us, and He does care! For that reason, if we read His word and trust what He says, then we realize that fear comes out of a lack of trust on what He can do. God tells His prophet and His people the answer; “The righteous shall live by faith.” Have faith! Have trust! God will do what He said He would do. You can believe that. Instead of asking what God can do, ask what can I do?!
