Romans 8:18 -19 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.” (NASB)
How do you compare two things? Cars for instance. Which one would you say is the best car? What if we compare minivans? Now let’s compare something more important. What makes a house great? Which house is the best? The one with one bedroom floor plan or a two or three bedroom floor plan? Here we are comparing things that are similar. But how do we compare the value of two different things?
How would you choose what is the best? Would you go on a vacation or would you work? If you haven’t taken a vacation in a long time this may sound good, but if you are in debt, then working that vacation week for extra cash would sound better.
But how would you compare this? Which place do you prefer, a mansion or a cardboard house? How do you compare heaven? There is no comparison! There is nothing in this world that is worth comparing to what heaven will be like. Let us look forward to heaven and to what we will become on that day.
