Matthew 26: 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (NASB)
What is your temptation? Why is it so hard to keep it under control? When we decided to give our life for the Lord, we had the best intentions to submit to His will and live for Him instead of our desires. But as time goes by and temptations of the world become stronger, we can grow cold in our love and commitment to the Lord.
If we are not vigilant in our everyday life, no matter how strong we are, we are susceptible to falling into temptation. For us as Christians, it is an everyday battle. You know in your mind you want to do what is right, you want to follow God’s command. At the end of the day you will not only do what your mind has set out to do but also what your mind has been feeding on all day. We need to be so vigilant everyday as if our lives depend on it because they do! If we don’t pray everyday about it and if we don’t feed our minds the righteousness of God, our lives will be a wreck! Since your Spirit is willing to do God’s will keep praying so that you will not fall into temptation.
