Leviticus 23, Numbers 29 and Deuteronomy 16. Deuteronomy 16:13-17 ; Zechariah 2:10,11
Sukkot is the word for the feast where the Jews celebrate the feast of booths, or feast of tabernacles. According to the prophecy in Zechariah, many from all the nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the Lord on those days. This feast will be celebrated on October 2nd through the 9th. Many people walk in Jerusalem displaying the flags of their countries and also the flag of Israel. The people in rural areas set tents to stay there and sleep there for that week. This is a week to remind them that their ancestors lived in tents when they left Egypt and also reminds them that the Lord provided when He delivered them.
In those days when you feel that Lord has maybe forgotten us, or that maybe the Lord is not listening, that’s when we need to remember that the Lord will carry us through. We need to remember that the Lord will take care of us as we journey through life until we reach our destination which is heaven. The Lord didn’t call us out of this world so that we can worry about our future. Our future is secure and our future is guaranteed with God by our side.
