Sin

Genesis 3:4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. (NIV)
How does sin get started? The first thing it does is to find opposition to God’s commands. Satan wasted no time to divide a beautiful relationship between God and man. God spoke directly to Adam and Eve. What a privilege it would have been to hear God’s word face to face! Satan could not stand that he had been cast out of God’s presence and decided to break that relationship. He separated the woman and convinced her to do what was contrary to God’s words. When she heard him, she believed the serpent the moment she looked at the fruit because it had great appeal.
Satan’s influence is still strong in our world today. He has been dividing people and nations, and he started that when he started dividing families. Knowing that God wants us to have a relationship with Him, Satan’s influence will always try to break our relationship with God by telling us that our sin is not that bad. He will try to convince us that what we do is not too bad. We need to convince ourselves that our sin is not going to separate us from God. DO NOT believe that lie! Sin will separate us from God, and if it goes unchecked it will enslave us and separate us from God eternally. Don’t let the world decide where you will live eternally. Trust God and His word!
