Hebrews 11:39-40
Name your favorite hero of the Bible. Would Samson be in that list? When we think of heroes of the Bible, Samson is not one we think of first. Samson actually may not make it to our list. But he made it to God’s list of heroes of faith. Samson was disobedient, he was disrespectful, and he was temperamental, and yet, God talks about him as one of the heroes of faith. You see, what God saw in Samson was the fact that in his last act of obedience, he asked God for strength to destroy the Philistines. Which is what God wanted him to do in the first place.
In the same manner, when we look at our life, we are disobedient, and sometimes disrespectful to God’s commands when He doesn’t give us what we want, and even sometimes we get angry! How are we different from Samson? We are not. However, we are all given the same chance by God to repent and change our ways. Samson is recognized as a man of faith because he is remembered for his faith. In the eyes of God we are going to be remembered for the things we do right. But we must be in Christ. You are perfect in the eyes of God because of Jesus! Keep walking the narrow way, keep your eyes on Jesus, and sin less.
