Luke 3:8 “Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
What can rocks do? I used to have a small rock in my wallet to remind me to pray. I used to have a round, almost perfect, circle rock that I picked in Gatlinburg, to remind me how much courage David had. I used to have a flat rock that looked like an arrowhead to remind me of old cultures. As I read through the Bible, I look at the role that rocks have played in God’s plan. In the next few weeks, I will find some places in the Bible where people used rocks to help them or reminded them of something important.
As I read through the Bible I can see that rocks were used in so many different ways, which lead me to think if a rock can be used for a good purpose, am I letting God use me for a good purpose? I keep asking myself, has my life made an impact like a rock has made an impact. The Spirit revealed in scriptures that rocks are useful and so are you. We all can be useful in God’s service. God can use us in his plan. We just need to submit and let God work in us.
