The DEADLINE to sign up for RUSH at Freed Hardeman University is THIS WEDNESDAY, August 31. Cost is $55 and all teens are invited.
Last year we reached the “Summit,” and this year we will be headed to the “Desert” to walk with Jesus through the temptations.
How much do you love Jesus? At Riverchase, we’ve been discussing over the last couple of weeks the importance of LISTENING TO JESUS. Listening to Jesus and Following Jesus is LOVING Jesus. Jesus is amazing at how He treats people, connects with people, and also compassionately confronts people.
How much do you hate Satan? Consider how Satan came after Jesus in the desert as the Spirit of God led Jesus into the desert to be tempted by Satan. Satan twists, distorts, manipulates and lies about…everything. We all realize that there are a multitude of things in this life that simply are not fair nor right. Thank Satan for that. No…Don’t thank him. Hate Satan for that.
There were a few people throughout scripture who “walked with God” or were called “friend of God.” What do I need to do differently to walk with God and allow my relationship with Him to be so obvious that He would call me a “friend” of His? Meditate on that thought this week as you strive to reach unlimited spiritual heights. Reaching the Summit of Heaven is certainly top priority, but at times, we must do battle in the desert against Satan, but WITH GOD.
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ ”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
