2 Corinthians 4:16-18 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Why are you discouraged? Why do you loose heart? We all have stages in our lives when we get discouraged. A lot of things happen in this world that discourage us. Sometimes we feel like we just need to give up. DON’T! If you are feeling exhausted and tired of your Christian life and your Christian walk, don’t give up! Paul tells the church in Corinth to not loose heart. Imagine all the evil they were surrounded by and all the decay of their world around them. It was extremely hard to be a Christian then, even more so than today. But the encouragement was to not lose heart, which means, don’t give up! Don’t stop believing you can succeed!
The moment we stop having hope and believe that there is no success to be had, we give up. Sometimes an illness, life events even church work can discourage us. Never stop believing in God. God’s plan for your life is for eternity, not for the temporary things of this world. Trust him and obey him. It’s okay if our body is wasting away because our soul has set it’s eyes on heaven. No matter what happens here in this world, we belong to Christ, don’t lose heart brothers and sisters.
