Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (ESV)
Two weekends ago I had one of the greatest experiences ever along with a massive group of parents and volunteers. We traveled to Mobile for Leadership Training for Christ (LTC). Each year we have an amazing group of kids to participate, but this year I experienced mixed emotions. This was the last year for my oldest to participate. My youngest is excited for next year, although she is not old enough to participate yet. My son is looking forward to doing it all over again!
I wish I had these activities when I was growing up. We were expected to do certain things when we reached a certain age, but we had no training nor practice. Sometimes we would get encouragement and some feedback on our efforts in the body of Christ. When I look at activities like LTC, it reminds me that I need to my best to promote these activities. We are helping raise the future of the church. I won’t be here always, but if I can help one of these little ones stay in the faith when they get older, I’m sure God will be pleased. People will remember those who helped.
