How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
Those words come to my mind often as I see so many of our new babies. They have been a constant thought as I have held Zane, our newest grandbaby. Just as they continue to be in my thoughts with all of our grandchildren.
Because He lives, we all have the hope of living with Him eternally.
Because He lives, those who have gone before us will live again.
Because He lives, He rules. We will all stand before Him and be judged by Him.
Because He lives my life is to belong to Him.
He lives because it was impossible for death to hold Him. He is the Always Present One. He is the Eternal One. He is the Great I Am. He is the giver and sustainer of all life. He gives life to whomever He will. He has chosen to give life to all who trust Him.
Because He lives, He gives. He is the gracious giving God. He has and continues to give us all things. We live and move because of Him.
Most importantly, He gave us Himself. He came and died to pay for all of our sins. He became like us so we could become like Him.
How good and gracious is our loving Lord.
