2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
What can you learn from a paintball session with young college students? They are faster, smart and fun. Also, what can you learn from the older guys? We’re not as fast as we used to be. Although we are still smart, we get grumpy. It’s always fun playing a team of old people against a team of young people. We beat them in some games, and they beat us in other games, but I bet the old guys like me are the ones that woke up sore.
Driving home last night I was reminded that I can’t do the same things I used to do when I was younger. I was reminded that my body is not as young as it used to be, but I was very glad to get out and enjoy myself. You see as we get older we are not be able to do things we want to do all the time. The apostle Paul says our outward body fades away, but in the inside, we need to keep getting younger. It keeps getting renewed day by day. I don’t worry about getting older. I know that I have to be careful with what I do, but my inner being, needs to be transformed everyday to be like Jesus.
