Psalm 1:1-2 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night.” (NASB)
The last thing the psalmist recommends for us not to do in order to enjoy all of God’s blessings is for us to not sit with those who are mockers. We don’t need to be the type of person who approves and makes decisions on how to make fun of the things that God stands for. What we call today as Christian values. As people who love God we should never feel comfortable with people who mock the name of God. Mocking his name is more than just making fun of Him. It is being comfortable ridiculing his word and everything that HE has said. The things he has ordained are treated with contempt. All His laws and commands are considered like garbage.
We live in a world that loves to be entertained. We are constantly searching for things that are funny and things that make us laugh. Just make sure that one of those things we don’t get a chuckle comes from making fun of the Holy name of God.
