We don’t know the exact date of his birth, but we know a great deal.
Hundreds of years before he was born, the prophets wrote of his coming and gave many details of his life.
According to the prophets: he would be born in Bethlehem, He would be a descendant of Abraham and King David — thus making him a Jew and from the tribe of Judah, he would be born in the days of the Roman Empire, he would be born of a virgin.
“The word became flesh and dwelt among us.” So say those who saw him, touched him and walked with him. They beheld his glory. The glory of the one and only Son of God.
He came to give us a great gift. We call it grace.
He came to give us life and righteousness.
He was born, but he lived a righteous and sinless life. He came to do the will of the Father. He came to show us the Father.
He died on a cross taking the punishment of all the sins of all humanity. All who believe him, listen to him and trust him will be given eternal life as the very children of God.
He died, but three days later he overcame death and was raised from the dead. Thus giving proof that he was in fact the Son of God. He will come again and raise from the dead all humanity, and we will stand before him to be judged.
