Many of you know that one of my biggest passions is art and oil painting. For me there is something exciting to build a large canvas, prime it, and prepare to begin a new painting. Starting with nothing but wood, canvas, and paint, an artist can turn the canvas into anything imaginable.
I love the process of painting. Every painting of mine begins with rough outlines, time spent mixing oils and colors, and ultimately making many mistakes. Yet the process of painting is a journey and mistakes are part of the activity.
Because of my hobby of painting, I have always found it fascinating that the first time we encounter God in the Old Testament we meet him as The Creator.
The perfect Artist.
The creation story tells us that out of nothing God made everything, and it was GOOD. Almost every artist takes inspiration from nature and we have our God to praise for the beauty he has created. He made no mistakes and He made every thing just right.
Remember that the Creator made you. He made you in His image and he did not mess up. This week take time to praise God for the beauty and power of His creation.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; you works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14
