Isaiah 43:18-19 “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (ESV)
What does this verse say about God? When we look back at how God punished and disciplined Israel in the past because of their sins, we can also see that God forgives and restores. In this verse, God shows his love for a repentant people. He is about to rebuild Israel, making a way where no one thinks is possible. God is going to create water where people believe there can be none.
I believe we forget sometimes what God can do. God is all powerful and almighty. Why do we doubt Him? It’s true that sometimes we are broken, and it’s also true that sometimes we feel beaten down, but our God delights in restoring the broken. So think about this, when you feel broken, if you come to God, He will restore you. Forget the past and look forward to what God can do in your life. God is good!
