Colossians 2:7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. (NASB)
We had the opportunity to go to Dismal Canyon last weekend with the college group. Besides a beautiful scenery with great rock formations, we also admired the shapes of the trees. Some of these trees were so tall and others were not so tall. One interesting thing that we could observe were the roots on the trees. These massive trees hanging from the rocks by their roots. Some of the trees were barely hanging although they have been there for a long time. They were still hanging by the roots wrapped around the rocks. That view made me think of this verse.
We need to have our foundation wrapped and rooted in Christ who is the rock. To some people it may look like you are barely hanging, but to you and to me it means that the rocks won’t let us fall because our roots are firmly secured in the rock. Hang on to Jesus always.
