Genesis 2: 18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (NASB)
Fellowship is one of those words that when I think of it, I think of food, friends, laugher and a church building. While I was reading a book that Dewayne gave me, I found the easiest description of the word by using a simple illustration. Buying and selling. You spend your money to get something. You give and you get.
When we have fellowship within the church, we need to think of something we give, so we can get. What am I going to give in a fellowship? If you give a smile, you get a smile. If you give a hug, you get a hug. If you give friendliness, you get it back, and so on and so forth. Some people believe that there is nothing they can give to a fellowship. They are wrong! There is so much to give, but if you do not give, you cannot and will not receive. Next time you attend a fellowship go with the mindset of, “I bring something”, other than just food.
