2 Chronicles 16:9
“For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars.”
Last Sunday’s lesson reminded me how much wisdom is in the books of Kings and Chronicles. Looking at the life of all the kings of Israel and Judah there is so much we can learn. In the book of Chronicles there is a story about Asa, king of Judah. The king of Judah and the king of Israel were not getting along. No matter what Asa did to get along with the king of Israel, the king of Israel wanted war.
Asa made a mistake. He allied himself with other nations. He put his trust in other nations to come to his aid to help him. He thought, now I can win because all these other nations are coming to help me. But God had other plans. God sent a prophet who later was imprisoned by Asa. This prophet reminded Asa that God helps, has helped and will help those that completely surrender to him. God never fails, no matter how big the battle nor how big the problem is. God never fails those that have given themselves to Him. God always comes to the rescue of those that completely rely on him. Are you completely relying on God?
