A couple of weeks ago, I shared two opportunities that we had to connect with people in our surrounding communities. We had booths representing the church at “Hay Hoover” and Pelham’s “Fall Fun Day.” By taking advantage of these opportunities, we were able to connect with anywhere from 3,000 to 4,000 people. While these were mostly brief interactions, we still had the chance to provide folks with information about our congregation and its ministries and a few upcoming activities. We will have another opportunity to connect with community members this Saturday at our own fall festival. I hope you plan to be a part of it! With these things in mind, I have two requests:
When you pray, please remember those who our church has been able to connect with over the past few weeks. Pray that we can show Jesus to those who need to see him. Pray that we can have an opportunity to be present as the family of Christ to those who do not have one.
While these were two good events, our congregation includes members from several other communities outside of Hoover and Pelham. If a community you live in hosts an event such as this and you would like to help represent the church at it, please let me know. I can make sure that you have the resources needed to do so and if my schedule allows, I can plan to join you.
Regardless of where you may find yourself in the coming days, go shine the light of Christ!
