Last Sunday night after service rain was pouring hard and on top of that it was cold. I am not fond of cold weather, so needless to say I was a little grumpy. But we were prepared with warm clothes and an umbrella. Later on that evening my son asked me, why do we get cold? It made think for a minute and I had to look up ‘why do we get cold?’. Being cold is because the heat in our bodies is escaping and our body heat cannot keep up with the weather outside. This may be a layman’s explanation, but there is more to it.
This made me think of how our faith can grow cold. The warmth we felt at one time, we don’t feel anymore. We let the warmth escape and we are left in the cold. I want to encourage you not to let that happen. Get the warmth of God’s love in the church. Get clothed with Christ and don’t let your faith get cold.
