Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. 10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.”
You may not know this, but when I was younger I despised happy people. I really disliked anyone who would be “happy all the time.” Also, it was hard for me to read anything that had a positive mentality. Whether books, articles or short essays I had a hard time believing that your mindset had anything to do with happiness. Time has gone by I have come to accept that we are happier when we surround ourselves with people who want to be happy. That doesn’t mean that sorrow will never hit or that we will never feel sad. It means that when those moments happen you will have someone who will help you get better. You will have people who will find a positive attitude to make things better. Negativity loves negativity. Have you noticed that when someone talks about how bad something is, we find the same in ourselves? If a conversation is negative we tend to be negative. Having an optimistic mind doesn’t mean you live outside reality, on the contrary you know what is coming and you surround yourself with people that will help you through those moments. Be a positive person to someone who needs something positive in their life.
