An Egg

Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect (ERV)
Think of an egg in a farm just sitting there. From the outside you only see the shell. There is no movement, and it seems that nothing is going on. Then after a few weeks you see that the shell has been cracked. What you have is a new life which has broken out of the shell to take it’s place in our world. Something was happening in that egg that we couldn’t see from the outside. All we saw was an egg sitting there.
The same could be true when we deal with people. It’s almost impossible to see the transformation taking place. We usually notice when something has happened for a while and what we see is the result. With our children we hardly see them grow inch by inch. What we notice are the clothes that are too small, the shoes that are too tight and the change of their behavior. When it comes to transformation in people, what we see is how they treat others, and how they are more devoted to God and to his work. Bear with people as they’re changing from within. Sometimes we can’t see it, but from the inside they are being transformed by God’s word. One day we will see that they will come out of that shell to glorify God with their lives.
