Do you know where you are going?
These years that keep passing by are taking us somewhere. We can look back and see where we have been, but can we know anything about where we are going?
Our personal choices have a great deal to do with where we are going. But there are two major factors which should have tremendous impact on our personal choices. Those two factors tell us what we all need to know about where we are going.
The first factor – we are going to die.
Solomon, known as the wisest man in all the world wrote a book about this destination. For him, death became the frustration for so many of life’s pursuits and the directions one could take in life. Solomon’s book of Ecclesiastes becomes a very depressing book because no matter what you may accomplish in this life, your life will come to end and all you have in this life will be left to another.
The second factor – after death we have an appointment with God.
That appointment is our judgment from God regarding what we have done while we were alive and what we have done with Him and His word.
So the big question: if you knew where you were going would it make a difference in your choices today? You can know where you are going. “People are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,” (Heb. 9:27 NIV)
