52 Days
What can you do with 52 days? You could start a new habit. You could work on a personal goal or maybe catch up on some house chores or you could take a vacation. A vacation for 52 days would be nice but what if you could use those 52 days to do something greater than yourself. What if I told you that you could change many people’s lives in just 52 days?
In the Bible we have the story of Nehemiah. He along with some of the people of Israel built a wall to their city in just 52 days. What did it take for all of them to build this wall? It took one person to start it all.
One person who saw the ruins of a city he loved. One person who heard about the problem of the city being in ruins and cared enough to be grieved about it. One person who prayed and fasted for forty days to make a decision. One person who was bold enough to talk to the king and tell him what he was thinking. One person courageous to enough to move hundreds of miles to carry materials to reconstruct the city, one person who wasn’t scared of the people’s insults and threats.
It takes one person to start it all. With the help of God, what would you like to do in 52 days?
Nehemiah 6:15-16
15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of the month Elul, in fifty-two days. 16 When all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations surrounding us saw it, they lost their confidence; for they recognized that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.
