No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
“My parents just don’t understand.” Words that every teenager has uttered in their heads and sometimes out loud… I tell teens all the time though, people haven’t changed, and neither has temptation. The only thing that has changed is the way we access it. Parents had those same mean girls in high school, just not the same CONSTANT access to them. The same boys making bad decisions, without the CONSTANT pull to go and be there with them through the jealousy of social media.
I pray our teens can see the wisdom from an older generation, despite them not growing up with phones. I pray our adults and parents are able to understand that the temptation may not be stronger, but it’s more constant because of our technology.
